Luxury basics- The Row

It seems to me that the influx of actor-cum-designer-turn-singer 'slashies' continues to rise, such as Beyonce's House of Dereon, Hilary Duff, Sean P.Diddy Combs, Gwen Stefani, and even a few of the girls from The Hills, etc, but none has been so anticipated as that of the Olsen twin's luxury high end launch of 'The Row'. Despite all the hype, the cult status of both olsen twins- both good and bad, he success of how their pieces will depend on, I personally believe, the styling of the outfit and their marketing strategy. Without the right connections, sponsers, parties, fluff and sparkle, and don't forget the publicity, it may as well be overlooked by the majority of the population who still percieve them as the tweens who grew up on Full House.

The success of their sales will ultimately depend on their cult status. Luckily they've got enough $$ cha-ching to do enough marketing to outdo even Barack Obama's last minute $$$ promotional video (by all means, battle it out to the last minute).

My opinion? I like. Now it all depends on the price point and availability of their products in Australia. I know for a fact I'd be paying for just the brand, because quality wise- I can get anywhere here in Australia for a much cheaper price. Come on girls! Have a price point difference for us Aussie chicks looking for a bit of Hollywood glam!

The Neff-ster

Can you say H.O.T?

If you can imagine perfection.. and turn it into one man... and put him on one of the most iconic brands.. you have

Garrett Neff. Aka the Neffster.

The end is near?

Will the spotlight-shy Martin Margiela really retire from fashion? Will it be the end of white tuxedos and loose pants? Is the anti-fashion mouse really disappear from good and let Renzo Russo, (fashion magnate and owner of Diesel and Victor&Rolf) take over?

The good.

The not-so-fab

Can we say camel-toe?

um.. Alice Dellal?? she's kind of popping up everywhere eh!

Who will take the reign I wonder? Don't know if you can even call it Maison Martin Margiela without him. *Sigh*

This is a supposed photograph of him back from 93' taken from ruerue.

Not just a pretty picture

Here is another illustrator I've been following recently. He is a part of the fashion world and draws the most amazing pictures of the fashionable young-thangs in N.Y. It gives me a lot of inspirtation and motivation to draw more of my own pictures.

When men dress up, it is a lot more of an eye-catching than a girl.

How fantastic no?

And a comme des garcon image:

I've also recently been visitn Chiodo and Assin, down swanston street.
I was absolutely blown away by their retail space.. and their range as well. Its a shame I can't afford it. Must save up! Must save up!
visit Chiodo and Assin!

And some new purchases: at Prime, St Kilda

And I've got to say, the customer service there was almost perfect, their selling skills used to the max, and every opportunity taken. They only missed out on one thing; he didn't get my name!
score: 8/10

pretty pretty

While browsing through other fashion/design blogs I was linked to this fantastic blogger who did beautiful illustrations. I love her line work and how she leaves the pencil marking.
